- ...enjoy making music with others?
- ...have always wanted to experience a choir or an orchestra from an insider's perspective?
- ...have already been involved in an orchestra or a choir in the past and are missing music now that you are at university?
- ...don't think that classical music is to be discounted as old hat?
Then CM is just the right thing for you! Please come join our community of like minds, where students from all disciplines are working together towards a common goal. Experienced musicians are just as welcome as those who still have a bit of a journey ahead of them in that respect.
If you need a little help deciding, you are certainly welcome to first take a peek at our rehearsals. Once you are convinced that you want to become a member, you can join the choir or orchestra at the beginning of each semester during one of the first three rehearsals.
We just ask for a small contribution in return, an amount of 25 to 50 euros towards our expenses, depending on the scope of the extracurriculars program we put together that semester. It should also serve to emphasize the commitment that is necessary, having everyone show up for rehearsals regularly, so that the concert at the end of the semester will be a success.
Joining the Orchestra
Just come to one of our next rehearsals and introduce yourself. We are not just looking for any particular instruments and we would be happy to meet you. Prerequisite for joining, however, is a small, non-public audition, so that we can get an idea of your ability.
Please send us an email if you have any further questions.
Joining the Choir
We are happy to invite you to get a taste of our work during one of our choir rehearsals. More information about these can be found in our rehearsal schedule.
If you decide to join, we will have you participate in a small, non-public audition. Then we can get to know your vocal range and help you figure out which voice to join.
Please send us an email if you any further questions.
In addition to our regular rehearsals, a small part of the choir also meets during the lecture-free periods for the Project Choir – specifically on Thursdays at 7:30pm in Aula II. This is a great opportunity to get to know the choir in a smaller, more personal setting.
